  • Don Hamsher - Lead Pastor

    Pastor Don joined the staff as Lead Pastor in April of 2010. He is married to Brenda and they have two married children and five grandchildren. Don and Brenda grew up at Walnut Creek Mennonite church and returned after preaching at two other churches for the past 14 years. Don enjoys preaching and serving the people of Walnut Creek. In his spare time, family, watching sports and watching birds and landscaping his home occupy much of his time.

  • Matt Yoder - Church Administrator

    Matt joined the staff as church administrator in April of 2015. He is married to Pam and they have two teenage daughters. Matt enjoys working on projects and working behind the scenes so the church can operate functionally and smoothly. Matt oversees all the committees/ministries at Walnut Creek. He also backs up Pastor Don with pastoral duties.

    Matt enjoys racing, sports, running, reading and spending time with his family.

  • Heidi Starner - Youth Director

    Heidi joined the staff in Feb. 2015 as Youth Director for the high school and middle school students. She lives in New Philadelphia with her husband, Josh, and they have three children. Heidi has a love and passion for teens, she enjoys spending time with them and watching them grow and mature as followers of Jesus Christ. Before coming on staff, Josh and Heidi served as youth sponsors at Walnut Creek for nine years. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching football and bull-riding, tractor pulls and decorating cakes and cupcakes.

  • Gloria Mishler - Church Secretary

    Gloria lives in Berlin with her husband Duane (Dewey). They have two sons and one daughter all of whom are married and close by. She also has seven grandchildren.


    Gloria is in the office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. She is the one responsible to make sure that the day to day operations at WCMC are carried out by assisting in any way possible. On a week day, Gloria will be the one to greet you as you walk through the doors and her voice will be the first one you will hear as you call Walnut Creek Mennonite. She enjoys the many facets of her job and never knowing exactly what her day will hold as each day can bring new and challenging tasks.


    She enjoys reading, exercising, vacationing at the beach with her family, and babysitting her grandchildren.
